The Mount Isa Transition Fund offers grant funding of up to $2 million to support projects that create benefits for businesses, workers or the community in Mount Isa.

What's it for?

The Mount Isa Transition Fund supports projects that create at least one of the following benefits in the Mount Isa region:

Job creation or retention, or delivery of education and training initiatives for the workforce impacted by Glencore’s mine closure; Stronger business capability and regional supply chains; Growth of industries that diversify the local economy (such as tourism); or improved liveability through community infrastructure and services (e.g. sports, health, arts, walkability etc.)

How much is available?    

The total funding pool is $20 million. Grants of between $100,000 and $2 million are available, and cover up to 100% of project costs.

Australian entities that: Have an ABN or ARBNAre registered for GST and have a bank account under the entity name.
